In this paradigm-shattering book, businessman and Entrepreneur of the Year Robert Fraser writes to the 97 percent of Christians not called to full-time vocational ministry but called by God to the marketplace. In practical everyday language, Fraser shares insights from his experience running a 250-employee software company which experienced sustained revival and business success during his tenure as CEO.

In Marketplace Christianity, Fraser lays out a plan for:

  • The Ten Kingdom Things Business Does

Marketplace Christianity is full of second-to-none teaching for anyone whose calling and ministry are in the marketplace.

Acclaim for “Marketplace Christianity”

“Bob has unlocked the kingdom understanding of Christians in the Market place through his book. His testimonies and his own journey have encouraged my heart. It’s refreshing and rare to find a great word of encouragement to the everyday business leader, while holding to a very biblical uncompromising love for Jesus. He combines encouragement, exhortation and comfort in his book. Word of warning: You will probably want to buy allot more and hand them out to your friends.  My friend and I ended up passing out over 100 copies of “Marketplace Christianity” books to many of my business associates and friends at church. It’s a very timely word for many in the market place today!“ - Steve (review from Amazon.com)

“Bob Fraser has written a #1 must-read for all Church and business leaders. Chapter 7 hit the mark for Better Business by Design. This humble servant leader not only gives us permission but shows us the way in working for the Lord. Your purpose will greatly be impacted and defined when you read this book.” – M. Mullens (USA)

“Like many others, I had heard and read much on Christians in business and the marketplace but it never seemed to be accompanied with any real and practical application. In this book, Bob Fraser has been able to articulate the reality of what God is really doing in every area of the marketplace beyond a conceptual viewpoint. He has tasted it, breathed it and lived it. I found it of great encouragement to push into God and pursue what He has placed within me. Great to find a like-minded one. If you are serious about God and your/His business, you better grab hold of this book.” – W. Douglas (New Zealand)

Anointed Cubicle Workers – Kris Edler

Find out what happens when God chooses to partner with a nameless and faceless man, sitting in a cubicle in an insurance company. This is the story of Craig Leaming from Des Moines, Iowa.

Taking God to Work

For some, the scenario is all too familiar: a small grey cubicle with a picture your kids painted hanging by a thumb tack, a computer with ten files opened up, a phone that never stops ringing, and the stapler that you refuse to share with the desk next to you. For others, this is the stereotypical American job. For Craig Leaming—this is reality.

Working for an insurance company, Craig has purposed in his heart to take God to work with him every day because his heart cry is to see God touch the people around him. He’s not a minister in a church. He’s not a nationally acclaimed public speaker. And he’s not the author of a best-selling book. Craig is a lover of God who wants to see the Lord move in his workplace, and a few years ago, Craig began to see answers to his fervent prayers.

The G3 Principle

It all began with the idea of adoration. Since he knew that playing loud worship music at his desk was not an option, he wanted to find a way to praise God without offending others. Being a practical man, he thought of the catchphrase “Give God the Glory”, which he shortened to “G3″. Every time he made an insurance sale on the phone, he would simply write “G3″ on a sticky note and post it up in his cubicle. At the end of the day, having about twenty sticky notes posted in his cubicle, coworkers began inquiring how he was making so many sales.

“It’s simple,” Craig would reply, “I just give God the glory.” Being curious if this new sales tactic would work for them, many began trying it for themselves. Before they knew it, they were worshiping and adoring God in the middle of the insurance company. G3 became a growing trend which put into motion a much larger plan of the Lord.

Taking Work to God

As people started identifying other Christians in the office, Craig began to realize that it was time to unify the believers at the insurance company. Not wanting to offend those who were not Christians, he sent a memo stating there was an optional Bible study and prayer time available for those wishing to attend.
The study began with only five people wanting to pray and read the Bible together. However, after time, prayer and momentum, the study involved 85 of the 125 people employed in his department. This was beyond anything Craig would have ever dreamed a few month prior. Not only were these believers praying together and studying the Word, but they were also seeing miracles happen in their midst.

Craig explained one story of a woman having a tumor supernaturally healed, and another person who was healed because of a revelation given to a coworker during prayer. According to our interview recently, Craig said these miraculous answers were not uncommon. Seeing regular answers to prayer, Craig became a shepherd for dozens of his coworkers and a prophetic voice in his business.

During Craig’s time at the company, many people were able to hear the Gospel in a practical and non-offensive way. Others experienced answers to personal prayer, and countless more saw Craig’s faithfulness and were encouraged in their relationship with God. The good news is in that he is not the only person experiencing the move of God in his business. He is a prototype of what God is raising up all over the earth. Thousands of marketplace Christians are feeling the same desire Craig is—to see God move in their workplace.

This heart cry from the marketplace is the very reason for the Joseph International’s existence: to let you know that you are not alone. It is our desire to see revival in the marketplace and to equip men and women to be true prophetic voices. As we discover the face of God together, it’s always helpful to be encouraged by success stories like Craig’s. He was a cubicle worker who simply said yes to God, and decided to bring Jesus to work with him. Little did he know, but that “yes” not only brought God to work, but also brought his work to God. These are the beginnings of birth pangs for the revival coming to the business world.  But in order for us to see the fullness of the purposes of God in the marketplace, we must contend on our knees, just like our friend, Craig Leaming.
